Root Cause Massage Session in Westport, CT
Stop Treating the Symptom. Start Fixing the Source.
You've been managing pain that keeps coming back, in your neck, your back, your shoulders.
A Root Cause Session at Dharma Massage & Wellness in Westport, CT is designed to find what's actually driving that pain and work on it directly.
Stress and Tension Don't Resolve Themselves, They Compound
Day after day, the demands of work, long commutes on I-95, hours at a desk, and the constant pressure of daily life add up in your body. Most people push through. The tension builds quietly, and then it doesn't feel quiet anymore.
You may recognize this:
Neck and shoulder tightness that returns within days of a massage
Lower back pain that flares up after sitting too long or sleeping wrong
Headaches that seem to come from nowhere but always land in the same place
A body that feels braced and guarded even on your days off
Fatigue that isn't about sleep, it's about carrying too much physical tension for too long
You're not weak. You're not exaggerating. Your body is telling you something that deserves to be heard, and properly addressed.

More Than Relief, A Session Built to Actually Resolve Something
Every Root Cause Session at Dharma Massage & Wellness is structured around one question: why is this happening? Not just where does it hurt, but what structural or postural pattern is driving the pain in the first place.
What You Can Expect:
A full postural and movement assessment before any hands-on work begins
Hands-on structural work targeting the origin of your pain, not just the site of it
Techniques calibrated to your specific tension patterns and compensations
A session that feels different from a standard massage: more focused, more clinical, more targeted
A clear explanation of what was found and what was addressed before you leave
Dharma Massage & Wellness Has Seen This Before, and Knows What to Do
Mark Heilshorn, LMT, MMP understands what it looks like to live with pain that no one seems to be able to address.
After years of working with clients in Westport and across Fairfield County, he's built a practice around one core conviction: recurring pain has a structural cause, and structural causes have structural solutions.
Mark brings credentials that go well beyond a standard massage license, including Master Massage Practitioner training and specialized work in Myoskeletal Alignment Technique
His 100+ five-star Google reviews reflect not just skill but also a consistent ability to help people who had stopped believing relief was possible.
Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) + Master Massage Practitioner (MMP) credentials.
Specialized training in Myoskeletal Alignment Technique (MAT), a clinical, root-cause methodology
Individualized sessions, no scripts, no templates, no one-size-fits-all approach
A practice anchored in therapeutic outcomes, not relaxation spa experiences

Straightforward, Honest Booking
A Root Cause Session is an investment in understanding your body, not just managing it week to week. Pricing and session length options are available when you book, with clear guidance on the format that makes the most sense for your situation.
No upsells. No pressure. Just an honest conversation about what you need.
Choose Recovery Over Another Week of Managing It
Unresolved structural tension doesn't plateau. It compensates. A tight shoulder becomes a neck problem.
A stiff hip becomes a lower back issue. The body adapts around what isn't being fixed, and those adaptations accumulate over months and years.
Clients who finally book a Root Cause Session often say the same thing: the problem had been building for much longer than they realized. And they wish they hadn't waited.
Imagine feeling:
Grounded and loose instead of braced and guarded
Rested instead of waking up stiff and already behind
Able to sit through a workday or a drive without dreading it
Clear on what's happening in your body instead of confused and frustrated
Like yourself again, not the version of you that's learned to work around the pain
At Dharma Massage & Wellness, that's not a promise about one session. It's what structural work is designed to deliver over time.
